UFT Advanced – Mastering Efficient Test Automation

This training is aimed at experienced test automation engineers who have already completed the „UFT | Basics“ workshop and wish to take their automation projects to the next level. The objective is to consider test initiatives holistically, execute automated tests stably, and increase the reusability of scripts within the team. Participants will learn to identify and resolve the causes of test failures and automation errors, apply programmatic techniques, parameterise test scripts, and implement modular test designs. The use of version control systems like GIT will also be covered to improve teamwork and traceability. The training will be rounded off with data-driven test automation, best practices for modular scripts, function libraries and shared object repositories, as well as individual questions that will be answered in a practical, hands-on manner.

Contents at a glance

  • Alignment of the previous experiences, expectations, and questions of all participants

Stable test runs:

  • Root cause analysis of errors/warnings in tests
  • Identifying automation errors
  • Elimination of runtime or configuration-dependent test failures
  • Function of object recognition
  • Workarounds for automation errors and their resolution

Programming Techniques:

  • Introduction to programmatic test automation techniques
  • Write, parameterise and execute test scripts
  • Application of code templates for standardised tests
  • Descriptive programming techniques as a replacement / supplement to the Object Repository
