The neo42 TenableConnector is an interface between the Cyber Exposure Platform „Tenable“ and the Matrix42 Enterprise Service Management.Through the connector, your Matrix42 Service Desk becomes a controlling function for vulnerabilities that Tenable has uncovered.

The neo42 TenableConnector transfers identified vulnerabilities to the Matrix42 Service Desk and automatically ensures an ITIL-compliant process for remediating the identified vulnerability. The newly created „Problem“ object is also assigned an appropriate urgency for processing in the Matrix42 Service Desk.

The interface is currently being developed for the „on-premise variant“ Tenable.sc offered. A version for the cloud version Tenable.io is being prepared.

The aim of the interface is to couple Tenable vulnerability management with the Matrix42 ITSM Suite. The focus is on automating vulnerability management processes and supporting asset maintenance in both systems.

The neo42 TenableConnector offers solutions for the following scenarios

Asset reconciliation

  • Importing IPs from Tenable.sc
  • Automatic linking of Tenable IPs to assets by name / MAC / IP
  • Classification of previously un-matrixed Tenable IPs:
    • Assignment to existing asset
    • Assistant-controlled creation of a new asset
    • Ignoring IP record from Tenable
Vulnerability issue opening
  • Automation for problem creation: Filtering options via VPR score or severity
  • Creation of tasks and changes via problem ticket: Task per asset; task per vulnerability
  • Created tasks are assigned to the main user of an asset: Alternative: Security Role (Team) of the asset
Vulnerability View in Matrix42
  • Import all vulnerabilities from Tenable.sc
  • Overview of the major vulnerabilities in Matrix42
  • View of assets affected by a vulnerability
  • Representation of an asset's vulnerabilities
The import of „IPs“ (i.e. assets) and vulnerabilities can be done via the filters VPR ScoreSeverity and Repository be controlled.

If you are using Tenable and Matrix42 Service Desk, you should definitely get to know this functionality and get an idea of how the two systems communicate with each other. You can also find out more in a YouTube video on TenableConnector.

We look forward to your Contact us and will be very pleased to explain the added value of such an interface and will of course also answer any questions that may arise.
